ESPN College GameDay is heading to Baton Rouge this weekend for the LSU-Florida contest. Early reports indicated New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson would be the guest picker for the show.
That may sound pretty cool on paper. However, LSU officials have since denied those reports.
They say the rumors regarding Zion as the show’s guest picker are “not accurate.”

Most LSU fans didn’t want Zion as the guest picker anyways. The popular basketball icon has zero connections to LSU or Florida. As most are aware, Zion played for Duke in college.
The only connection he has to LSU is that he now plays for the New Orleans Pelicans — both teams are in the same state.
Tigers fans would like a guest picker with an actual connection to the program. Someone like Shaq would make much more sense for Saturday’s show. It’ll be interesting to see who ESPN is able to bring in for the program.

Saturday’s game between No. 5 LSU and No. 7 Florida is garnering a whole lot of attention. Both teams are trying to keep pace with No. 1 Alabama and No. 3 Georgia. The winner controls its own destiny.
Tigers fans will certainly be rocking on Saturday night in Death Valley. LSU-Florida kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
