The LSU-Alabama No. 1 Vs. No. 2 Game In 2011 Featured 42 Future NFL Draft Picks

There have been a few contests since 2000 that have been dubbed the "Game of the Century," and most of those lived up to the billing. LSU vs. Alabama in November 2011, when the Tigers were ranked No. 1 and the Crimson Tide No. 2, is one of those games. Perhaps, though, that game should from now on be described as the "Game of Future NFL Players."

The 2014 NFL Draft concluded on Saturday, meaning that the majority of the players that played in that 2011 regular season game have now been drafted, or, at least, had the opportunity to be selected. The number of former LSU and Alabama athletes from that contest that got drafted is pretty staggering.

LSU won that contest in overtime, 9-6. Alabama, though, would go on to win the national title, beating the Tigers handily, 21-0, in the BCS National Championship Game.

The number of players that saw the field in that first game could increase next spring, too, as there were a few freshmen that played in the contest.
