Despite seeing Joe Burrow leave his Ohio State team to join LSU, Urban Meyer has always had a soft spot for the Tigers quarterback. He made that much clear when talking about him today.
On Monday’s edition of The Herd, Meyer had nothing but praise for his former backup quarterback. He called it “heartbreaking” when Burrow left Columbus, but believes that the LSU signal caller has come a long way.
Meyer asserted that as far as he’s concerned, Burrow has already won the 2019 Heisman Trophy.
“His performance against Georgia — the Heisman is over as far as I’m concerned…”

We’re not going to argue with him there.
A 349-yards, four touchdown performance against one of the best teams in the country is about as good as it gets.
It would be a Heisman upset of epic proportions for anyone other than Burrow to win the prestigious trophy.
Burrow now heads into the College Football Playoff as an SEC champion, a former Big Ten champion, a Fiesta Bowl and Cotton Bowl champion, and most likely a Heisman Trophy winner.
