Iowa football faces Mississippi State on New Year's Day in the Outback Bowl.
The Hawkeyes are no strangers to the Tampa bowl game.
They made their first appearance in 2003, beating Florida, and have gone back five more times including this year's bowl season.
The Hawkeyes are 2-4 in the game, with the last appearance coming against Florida two seasons ago.
On the other side, Mississippi State is making its first trip to the Outback Bowl. It is also the first-ever game between the Hawkeyes and Bulldogs.
We've seen some interesting movement in the betting trends between Iowa and Mississippi State.
Mississippi State opened as a four-point favorite, a number that jumped up to 7.5-points a few weeks ago.
Early money was heavy on Mississippi State, with 61-percent of bettors going with the SEC club as of December 12.
That has come back to the middle in a big way over the last two weeks, which is what the sportsbooks want. The line has settled in at seven points at most sportsbooks, and the bettor breakdown is at 50/50, per OddsShark.
As depicted above, OddsShark's super computer expects an extremely close game, with Iowa falling a bit short, but covering the touchdown spread.
