The Mississippi State football team picked up a huge commitment yesterday from four-star safety and the No. 1 recruit in the state, Jamal Peters. It was especially for MSU big because Peters has offers from other SEC powerhouses, like Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M, among others. After he committed, Peters took to Twitter to make a promise to Bulldogs fans: that he will play a part in Mississippi State winning a national championship before he leaves Starkville.

Mississippi State has never officially won a national championship, but the Bulldogs do claim that the school won the national title in 1940. Still, if Peters can manage to help MSU win a title in the always competitive SEC, it would be incredibly impressive.
