Report: FBI Investigating Threat Made Towards The Trees At The Ole Miss Grove

The FBI is looking into a threat made against the trees at The Grove at the University of Mississippi. According to an anonymous letter which was turned over to the FBI on Tuesday after appearing on the school's campus, an apparent Mississippi State fan plans on poisoning the trees at the legendary tailgating area outside of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Here is the full text from the letter, via djjournal.com:

“What’s going to happen to ya’ll on the field Saturday Aint nothing compared to what’s going to happen on your beautiful campus. You won’t be one of the most pretty campus’s Next year. A lot of shrubs and trees are going to die; especially in the grove. Can’t stop us” (signed) “Hail State Go to Hell TSUN.”

While the FBI is looking into this, hopefully this is nothing more than an empty threat by an overzealous fan and everyone who attends the game stays safe.

The Rebels and the Bulldogs will square off in Oxford on Saturday. The game is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 P.M. EST on CBS.
