247Sports just released its newly produced college football recruit rankings and in doing so, narrowed down the most desirable recruits in an already competitive 2017 recruiting class.
Foster Sarell, a 6-foot-6, 304-pound offensive lineman from Graham (Wash.) came out on top of the shuffle of players, becoming the third No. 1 player in 247Sports' analysis of the 2017 recruiting cycle. Previously, linebacker Dylan Moses and running back Najee Harris held the position.
The new 247Sports standings not only crowned Sarell - it improved four players to a five-star ranking:
Offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood from Pensacola (Fla.) rose in the rankings from No. 19 to No. 7. The 6-foot-6, 327-pounder is committed to Alabama.
Safety Richard LeConte III from Riceboro (Ga.) is now No. 19 in 247Sports' rankings, rising from No. 62. He is a Georgia commit.
Walker Little, an offensive tackle from Bellaire (Texas), now sits in No. 2 after rising from No. 58. He has yet to make a commitment but reportedly is most interested in Stanford, Texas and Ole Miss.
Tight end Colby Parkinson from Thousand Oaks (Calif.) rose from No. 49 to No. 15. He is a Stanford commit.
