Division I Football Recruit Killed In Mississippi Weekend Shooting Spree

A Division I football recruit was reportedly killed in a weekend shooting rampage in Mississippi.

A killing spree in Mississippi this weekend claimed the lives of eight people, including a Division I football recruit.

According to The Daily Leader, one of the victims was Brookhaven (Miss.) linebacker Jordan Blackwell. Blackwell recently picked up scholarship offers from Central Arkansas and Jackson State.

The suspect in the murders, 35-year-old Willie Corey Godbolt, was apprehended on Sunday.

He will be charged with one count of capital murder and seven counts of first degree murder.

All of these deaths are such sad, senseless acts. RIP to the victims and our thoughts are with their families and friends.
