As the Ole Miss Rebels prepare for a tough matchup this weekend against the Auburn Tigers, the coaching staff received unfortunate news regarding freshman quarterback Grant Tisdale.

Ole Miss had Tisdale listed as its No. 3 quarterback on the depth chart. Matt Corrall and John Rhys Plumlee have seen most of the snaps under center this season.

Since Tisdale doesn't see an ideal opportunity in front of him at Ole Miss, the four-star quarterback has decided to explore other options.

According to college football recruiting expert Greg Powers, Tisdale has entered the NCAA transfer portal. He intends to transfer from Ole Miss in the near future.

Per 247Sports' recruiting rankings, Tisdale was the No. 14 dual-threat quarterback and No. 44 recruit from Texas in the 2019 class.

Tisdale is the sixth player from Ole Miss to enter the transfer portal in the middle of the season.

Earlier this month, the four-star freshman voiced his frustration over his lack of snaps in the regular season. He told the media "The competitor in me wants to play."

During his time as a recruit, Tisdale received offers from Baylor, Ohio State and Tennessee among others. We'll see if any of those schools are back on the table for him.
