When Ole Miss takes the field on Saturday afternoon against Alabama, it will do so without quarterback Matt Corral on the field.

According to a report from David Johnson of 247Sports, Corral is not dressed for pregame against the Crimson Tide.

The starting quarterback suffered bruised ribs last week against California and was limited in practice this week leading up to the Alabama game. During pregame, Corral was spotted in sneakers and warmups instead of his uniform.

As a result, John Rhys Plumlee will likely get his first career start.

Plumlee, a former four-star recruit, played against Cal in relief of an injured Corral last weekend. He led the Rebels to 177 yards of total offense in the last five minutes of the game.

He rushed for 53 yards, including a 47-yard scamper to set up a touchdown. Plumlee showed his accuracy, completing 7-of-7 passes on the final drive of the game.

Now he'll likely get the start against one of the best defenses in the country. Ole Miss has given Alabama trouble over recent years, but playing with a backup quarterback doesn't instill much confidence.

Ole Miss and Alabama kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
