Right now, there might not be a more perfect coach/program match in college football than Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss. Kiffin has been officially hired for a couple of days now and he’s already fitting in seamlessly in Oxford.
First, there was the reception Kiffin got when his plane landed last night. There were swarms of fans on the tarmac, greeting him with cheers and potentially pertinent advice.
Today, Kiffin had his introductory presser in front of the media and more adoring fans. During the gathering, he was asked about the reception he’s gotten at his new home.
His response was priceless.
Lane Kiffin asked about his reception at Ole Miss and kissing babies at the airport after arriving there: "It's a lot better than another tarmac experience that I had."

If you recall correctly, Kiffin was fired from his job at USC on the tarmac following a brutal performance at Arizona State. The act of firing someone before they even get home has even called being “Kiffin’d.”
Lane survived that indignity and his career has underwent a rebirth in recent years. Now, he’s back in the SEC, where presumably he’ll stay longer this time after spending only one season at Tennessee.
