Ole Miss Announces Chad Kelly Is Out For Remainder Of Season With Knee Injury

A long season just got longer for Ole Miss football.

The 4-5 Rebels will have to play the rest of the regular season without quarterback Chad Kelly. Kelly tore his ACL and lateral meniscus in yesterday's 37-27 win over Georgia Southern.

Ole Miss announced this afternoon that Kelly will undergo season-ending surgery this week.

In one-plus seasons in Oxford, Kelly threw for 6,800 yards, 50 touchdowns and 21 interceptions. He began his career at Clemson before transferring in 2014 after being dismissed from the team.

Kelly's NFL draft status will surely take a hit with this news. Hopefully he makes a full recovery, because the potential is there for someone to take a shot on him at the professional level.
