Lane Kiffin has officially arrived at Ole Miss, and the Rebels fans couldn’t be happier to have him.
Ole Miss held an introductory press conference for Kiffin today, and invited more than just a few members of Rebel Nation to attend.
In fact, the team didn’t even use the usual locker room press room to make the announcement. They used an entire capacity arena.
The Pavilion at Ole Miss, the Rebels basketball arena, was filled to the brim with fans filing in. All of them were there to bear witness to what they hope is a new age of Rebel football.

Kiffin’s hiring follows a three-year stint as head coach of FAU, during which he won two Conference USA titles. His time at FAU followed a lengthy tenure as an assistant at Alabama, with shorter stints at USC, Tennessee, and the Oakland Raiders before that.
Ole Miss fired head coach Matt Luke after two years, during which he went 11-13.
It will now be Kiffin’s job to return Ole Miss to the winning ways they found under Hugh Freeze, Houston Nutt and David Cutcliffe.
Hopefully he can do that without getting into the same kind of trouble Freeze got the program into…
