Missouri senior guard MIchael Dixon was suspended by the team over a month ago. After weeks of speculation, the reason was confirmed on Tuesday evening. Dixon was accused of rape on August 20th, but there was not enough evidence to charge him, according to Steve Walentik of the Columbia Daily Tribune.
According to Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star, the investigation was closed on November 16 because there was insufficient evidence. Dixon will still be suspended for violating team rules, but could be reinstated by the school.
Tigers fans were curious of Dixon's offense after former Missouri basketball player Kim English tweeted on Friday about the Mizzou "Student Board". A woman replied to English saying she was a victim and Dixon was a rapist.
It is unclear how the university and coach Frank Haith will proceed at this point.
