Mizzou freshman tight end Brandon Holifield was dismissed from the football team Wednesday for a violation of team rules, team spokesperson Chad Moller confirms. Holifield was redshiritng in his first year with the program and was a late signing to this year's recruiting class.
Things didn't get better for Holifield, unfortunately, as he was arrested late last night in Columbia. Holifield was pulled over for speeding, going 69 in a 55 mile per hour zone. Drugs and paraphernalia were found in the car, and Holifield was arrested for possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana. In addition, Holifield was also driving without a valid license.
Holifield was no stranger to trouble during his time with the Tigers. The freshman was suspended along with four others for the Vanderbilt game when he was in the car during DGB's now infamous arrest.
