Mizzou vs. Bucknell Recap: Tigers Survive A Wild Finish

A frantic final minute.

Score: No. 12 Missouri 66, Bucknell 64

Stars: Missouri: Phil Pressey 26 Pts, 5 Ast, 3 Reb. Bucknell: Mike Muscala 25 Pts, 14 Reb, 4 Ast, 2 Blk.

Story: Missouri finishes nonconference play with a good victory over a quality Bucknell team. Phil Pressey led the charge for Missouri with a career-high 26 points. Mizzou struggled in the first half and Laurence Bowers kept the Tigers in the game. Jankovic provided a quick spark for Mizzou at the start of the second half, hitting a big three pointer, followed by a rim-shattering dunk from the wing.

With the score 64-63, Pressey missed the front end of a 1-and-1, giving the ball back to Bucknell with 11 seconds to play. But Muscala stepped out of bounds, and Bucknell lost its best chance to pull a stunner.

Tony Criswell missed his second straight game with a broken finger. Ryan Rosburg was the first big man off the bench in Criswell's absence, but Stefan Jankovic received more playing time when all was said and done. The Tigers begin conference play with their first ever SEC basketball game at home against Alabama on Tuesday. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN at 6 p.m. CT as part of Super Tuesday.
