Mizzou's Offensive Coordinator David Yost Resigns Due To Personal Reasons

Interesting timing.

Scoop:David Yost, Missouri football's offensive coordinator, has resigned, citing personal reasons. Yost sent out a news release to members of the media announcing his decision to leave the program.

Significance: Yost's resignation comes after a 5-7 year for the Tigers in which the offense was heavily criticized. While Gary Pinkel publicly stated he wasn't going to make changes to his staff, now he'll be forced to.

Story: Yost has recently been at the center of rumors as a head coaching candidate at the University of Texas El-Paso, but in past weeks had rejected these rumors, citing his content as an offensive coordinator at Missouri. He had been the offensive coordinator for the Tigers since 2009, and had been a part of Gary Pinkel's coaching staff since 1996, beginning as a graduate assistant at Toledo.

“I feel like I’ve had a great run here and that it’s just the right time to turn it over to someone else," Yost wrote in the news release.
