Photo: Mizzou's Dorial Green-Beckham Arrested Overnight On Drug Charges, Released This Morning
According to Mike Colombo of KMOV, Missouri star wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham was arrested early Saturday morning on "drug charges", but released by the police a few hours later. Green-Beckham was booked and held at the Greene County Jail in Springfield, Missouri.
Green-Beckham was also arrested back in October of 2012 on charges of marijuana possession. Jack Witthaus of The Maneaterprovides a bit more context, which may spell good news for DGB.
“(The release) probably means he wasn’t involved with what they thought he was involved in,” Wilcox said in a phone call from the Greene County Jail.
SBNation's Adam Jacobi claims that the classification of alleged crime, "distribution, delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance" is considered a felony. Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch says that the investigation is "ongoing".
Green-Beckham led the Tigers with 59 catches and 12 touchdowns in 2013. His 883 receiving yards were second to only L'Damian Washington. He was widely considered the No. 1 overall college football prospect of the 2012 class.
