Missouri got a boost to its 2013 recruiting class on Tuesday as prospect Donovahn Jones committed to the Tigers.

Jones is from Hampton, Georgia and is the first player from the Peach State to choose Mizzou since the Tigers moved to the SEC. Jones is listed as a 3-star athlete on Rivals and picked Mizzou over Arkansas and Minnesota.

Jones currently plays quarterback for Dutchtown High School but is being brought into Columbia as a wide receiver, according to Power Mizzou's Peter Scantlebury. He is listed at 6-foot-2 on his Rivals page so he has the size to fit into one of the Tigers' receiver slots.

Jones is the fourth player to commit to Mizzou who Rivals lists officially as an "athlete" rather than a specific position. The other three "athlete" commits, Chase Abbington, Aarion Penton and Anthony Sherrils, are all from Missouri.

Since the conference move, the Tigers have begun to recruit in the southeast. Jones is hopefully the first of many commits to come from the heart of SEC country.
