Update: Apparently the earlier news that Dixon has officially committed was a bit premature. Jason King of ESPN has set the record straight:
Earlier: Former Mizzou star Michael Dixon will be transferring to Memphis, CBS Sports' Gary Parrish is reporting this morning. Dixon visited Memphis today and committed to coach Josh Pastner.
Dixon was accused twice of rape during his tenure at Missouri, but no charges were filed in either instance. The accusations eventually led to Dixon being suspended from the team, culminating with an announcementthat he'd transfer elsewhere. Dixon was one of Mizzou's best players during the 2011-2012 season, averaging 13.5 points per game and 3.3 assists per game.
Memphis begins play in the American Athletic Conference this season.
