Co-OC/wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon will call plays for South Carolina against Michigan in the Outback Bowl.
The Gamecocks finished the regular season 8-4, but were tied for 98th in the country in scoring offense while finishing 107th in rushing offense and 108th in total offense.
South Carolina and Michigan will kick off at noon ET on ESPN2 on Jan. 1.
