The old ball coach is at it again. In a recent interview on the NFL Network, South Carolina's head coach Steve Spurrier had a lot to say about his former defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. When asked, "How do you rate his work ethic?" Spurrier responded, "It was okay, it wasn't, I mean he wasn't like Marcus Lattimore." Spurrier would circle back and compliment Clowney, "But when the ball is snapped, oh he's got an explosion like you've never seen before."

Spurrier certainly didn't do any favors for the first-overall draft pick hopeful. His interview simply reinforced the narrative that teams, scouts and fans had already been talking about for months; Clowney is an athletic freak who lacks elite work ethic. "His work ethic is pretty good," Spurrier said later in the interview.
Not the glowing endorsement Clowney was probably hoping for. You can watch the full interview here.
