Steve Spurrier Receives Two-Year Contract Extension

The ol' ball coach gets a new deal.

Scoop:  According to Josh Kendall, a South Carolina beat writer for The State newspaper in Columbia, Steve Spurrier has received a two-year extension on his contract: 

Significance: Spurrier is 65-37 at South Carolina and is slowly turning the Gamecocks into a national powerhouse. 

Story: As Kendall stated, a raise has not yet been included in the new contract agreement. One would assume that an increase in pay is sure to come, with Spurrier having South Carolina in a bowl game each year he's been there besides 2007. South Carolina's defense ranks 13th nationally this season in points against and will be play Michigan in the Outback Bowl on January 1st.
