The first live football game on the SEC Network will feature Texas A&M and South Carolina. Life without Johnny Manziel starts for Texas A&M. South Carolina also has a new starting quarterback after Connor Shaw graduated. But quarterback isn’t the only position at which we’ll see some new faces. The Aggies are looking to replace wide receiver Mike Evans and offensive lineman Jake Matthews, who were both first round picks. Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney left South Carolina and was the first overall pick in the draft. The Gamecocks also lost leading receiver Bruce Ellington and Kelcy Quarles, who led the team in sacks.

Prediction: Texas A&M is starting Kenny Hill at quarterback. The sophomore has big shoes to fill and will be tested immediately. Hill will rely on three dependable running backs in Trey Williams, Tra Carson and Brandon Williams. The Aggies defense struggled mightily in 2013. The unit must play better this season.
South Carolina, on the other hand, has a somewhat-experienced starting quarterback in Dylan Thompson. The senior was asked to fill in for an injured Shaw in the past. Thompson has several weapons at his disposal, including running back Mike Davis, and wide receivers Damiere Byrd and Shaq Roland.
South Carolina has high hopes to win the SEC East and we’ll take the Gamecocks to start the season off with a victory. However, the Aggies will hang around and cover the point spread.
