Former South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has easily been the most talked-about player ahead of the NFL combine. Clowney, whose physical abilities seem to be on another level, has gotten criticism for his work ethic and "love of the game". After seeing his 40-yard dash time, league scouts may be willing to take a shot anyway.
Here's Clowney's 40-yard dash, clocked officially at 4.53 seconds, superimposed over former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel's best run. It's not even close.
Here's an NFL-official look at Clowney's run from field view. He gets off the block incredibly fast.
Of course, the 40 time isn't going to be the sole factor for which player the Houston Texans draft No. 1 overall. But Clowney's combination of power and speed sure is eye-opening.
