AJ McCarron Says He Hurt His Shoulder Against Tennessee, Skipped Senior Bowl Because Of Injuries

Former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round of this past week's NFL Draft, but it seems people aren't ready to stop asking him about his time in Tuscaloosa. Just a few days ago, McCarron made waves when he spoke of the sacrifices he made to play at Alabama - one of which was playing through injuries. Today, on Tide 99.1's The Game, McCarron clarified a bit. He says he hurt his shoulder diving for a potential touchdown against Tennessee and that he skipped the Senior Bowl because of nagging injuries.

He also reiterated that he and former coach Nick Saban will be close moving forward.

McCarron is set to compete to become the backup for Bengals starting quarterback Andy Dalton. Should he ever win a job in the NFL, you can bet he'll need to play through injuries again.
