Kendrell Scurry, a 2019 four-star wide receiver recruit, has a while before he has to make a final decision on his college choice. Today, he made that more apparent, decommitting from Tennessee.
Scurry committed to the Vols way back in July, but since March, when he said he was "opening up his recruitment" while remaining a Tennessee commit, some huge offers have come in for the Independence High School star.
Since then, Scurry has added scholarship offers from several other schools, including Penn State, South Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Purdue, Cincinnati and Wake Forest.
Scurry announced his decommitment via Twitter.
Scurry doesn't have full rankings from every site, but 247Sports has him as a four-star player, and the No. 3 recruit in the state of Tennessee. He's ranked No. 81 overall, and No. 17 among all 2019 wide receivers.
Interestingly, Scurry wasn't the only Independence player committed to Tennessee. His teammate, fellow four-star wide receiver TJ Sheffield, gave his pledge to Butch Jones' program back in November, but is considered a 'soft verbal,' so his status may be up in the air as well. Tennessee also has four-star athlete Cameron Wynn and three-star cornerback Adonis Otey committed in the class.
