With college football finally here, Peyton Manning is in attendance for Tennessee's season opener against Georgia State. Before kickoff, the legendary quarterback was spotted on the sidelines with Ryan Leaf.

Manning and Leaf will have their football careers connected for years to come. After the Indianapolis Colts selected Manning with the first overall pick, the San Diego Chargers took Leaf with the very next pick.

Indianapolis went on to enjoy over a decade worth of success with Manning, meanwhile San Diego only had Leaf for three years. To be fair, the former Washington State product saw his tenure slightly derailed by injuries.

Despite the history intertwined between Manning and Leaf, the top picks from the 1998 NFL Draft seem to be getting along just fine.

Leaf is entering the next chapter of his career at ESPN. He'll be part of their coverage for the college football season.

Roughly an hour before kickoff, Leaf and Manning were seen on the field together.

Fans will see more of Leaf this afternoon as he makes his college football broadcasting debut.
