QB Will McBride Flips From Memphis To Tennessee, Will Enroll Early

Will McBride, a three-star quarterback recruit out of Texas, has flipped his commitment from Memphis to Tennessee, and will be enrolling in Knoxville early.

McBride, the nation's No. 29 dual-threat quarterback per 247Sports, made the decision official on Twitter this evening.

His full note:

"I believe everything happens for a reason, and God has truly presented me with an opportunity of a lifetime. I'm excited to say that all the hard work has payed off, and that I will be continuing my athletic/academic career at the University of Tennessee #GBO #EL17E"

He expanded on the decision in an interview with 247's Ryan Callahan:

“The other thing is I want to make sure that the coaching staff at Tennessee and the whole organization knows that they’re getting a guy that’s going to come in and work his tail off and make the most of the opportunity. It’s Tennessee football, and it’s just something I felt like I couldn’t pass up."

According to Callahan's piece, McBridge intends to enroll at Tennessee next month.

247 has him ranked as the No. 184 player in talent-rich Texas.

McBride is the 25th member of Tennessee's 2017 class, and the only quarterback in the group.
