Report: Ex-Tennessee Coach Donnie Tyndall Is Now A Pro Wrestling Manager

Tennessee fired Donnie Tyndall as its men's basketball coach in March because of possible NCAA violations he incurred during his tenure as the head coach at Southern Miss. Well, this weekend Tyndall will make a return to coaching, but in a decidedly different venue.

According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, Tyndall will guest manage the new Heavenly Bodies in their match with the Bullet Club, which is the main event of Global Force Wrestling’s Grand Slam Tour appearance Saturday night at Smokies Park in Kodak, Tennessee.

Yes, you read that correctly. If you still need more convincing, here's Tyndall telling you about the gig in his own words.

“It will be nice to see some of the friends we made in the arena,” Tyndall said in a Global Force Wrestling press release. “As for diving into professional wrestling and managing the new Heavenly Bodies, coaching is coaching. Our young guys played hard for the Vols, and I’m sure these young guys will do the same.”

This is incredible stuff. Hopefully Tyndall rocks that bright orange blazer for fashion purposes, even if he's no longer affiliated with Tennessee.
