SEC Network Predicts Tennessee's Season Game By Game

The SEC Network's Greg McElroy gave his thoughts on the upcoming season.

Another college football season, another year of lofty expectations for the Tennessee Volunteers.

While an SEC championship might be just out of reach for this team, an SEC East title is certainly doable with no clear favorite in the division. But what do the experts think?

Here's how SEC Network's Greg McElroy thinks the Volunteers' season will shake out:

  • Georgia Tech:Win
  • Indiana State: Win
  • Florida: Loss
  • UMass: Win
  • Georgia: Loss
  • South Carolina: Win
  • Alabama: Loss
  • Kentucky: Win
  • Southern Miss: Win
  • Missouri: Win
  • LSU: Loss
  • Vanderbilt: Win

According to McElroy, Butch Jones' squad will finish at 8-4, which sounds about right. The Volunteers should clean up the bulk of their schedule, but the big games against Georgia, Florida, LSU and Alabama will be tough. It wouldn't be a shock to see them get a win in one of those games (they have Georgia and LSU at home), but a 2-2 split might be asking too much. Then again, it's the SEC, so anything could happen.
