Tennessee Loses Commitment From 5-Star OT Cade Mays

The Volunteers have lost a commitment from the five-star offensive lineman.

Tennessee's 2018 recruiting class has taken a major blow.

Cade Mays, a five-star offensive lineman out of Knoxville, has de-committed from the Volunteers' program.

"This decision has been one of the hardest decisions I have made in my life," he said on Twitter.

Here's his full statement:

Mays, a 6-foot-6, 318-pound offensive lineman, is ranked the No. 2 OT in the class and the No. 1 player in the state of Tennessee. He's the 2018 class' No. 15 overall recruit, per 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Clemson, Georgia and Ohio State are some of the major programs believed to be involved with Mays' recruitment.

Tennessee is 4-5 this season and many expect the Volunteers to part ways with head coach Butch Jones at some point.
