Tennessee just made a huge hire.

Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt added an important piece to his coaching staff today, somehow managing to steal LSU general manager Austin Thomas away from the Tigers according to 247 Sports.

As general manager, Thomas was "involved in nearly every aspect of the Tigers' program from recruiting and player personnel to football operations and working alongside the coaching staff" per 247 Sports.

It's a huge win for Pruitt and Tennessee, as it adds a proven veteran to the newly-assembled staff.

Thomas had been with the Tigers for almost five years, and was instrumental in recruiting top-flight talent to LSU. From 2014 to 2017 the Tigers brought in four consecutive top 10 classes.

Thomas, a Nashville-area native, began his career in college football as a recruiting intern with the Volunteers in 2008.
