The Vols have reached out to an ACC coach.

Tennessee's head coaching position remains vacant despite an agreement between the university and Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano that was made over the weekend.

Volunteers fans rejected the hire and created an environment so toxic that the deal was revoked.

After the turmoil, several new names have popped up as potential candidates for the gig, including Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy.

Now a new name has emerged. NC State's Dave Doeren.

Doeren entered the 2017 season on the hot seat, but led the Wolfpack to an 8-4 season. The 45-year-old head coach found success at Northern Illinois before taking over at NC State.

Could Tennessee be next for the ACC coach?
