2017 5-Star QB Tate Martell Announces Decommitment From Texas A&M

Tate Martell, a five-star quarterback in the 2017 class, has de-committed from Texas A&M.

The 5-foot-10, 203-pound prospect out of Nevada is ranked the No. 1 dual-threat QB in the class by 247Sports. He had been committed to the Aggies since August.

Martell announced the news on Twitter, saying it is "what is best for my future."

Martell has been pretty open about his recruitment throughout this process, constantly tweeting about new scholarship offers he has received.

He's recently visited with coaches from Ohio State and Notre Dame. He took a visit to the Buckeyes' campus in March and seemed to really enjoy it.

USC, Cal and Oregon, among other programs, could all be in contention to land him, too.
