Former Texas A&M Offensive Coordinator Jake Spavital Takes Job At Cal

A little over a month after his "mutual parting of ways" with Texas A&M, former Aggies offensive coordinator Jake Spavital has landed on his feet, and will be coaching one of the more productive offenses in college football. Spavital is heading to Cal, to coach under Sonny Dykes, who made it official today.

According to a report by FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman, Spavital was brought in on a two-year contract. His role at Texas A&M had previously been filled by former UCLA coordinator Noel Mazzone. Before joining the Aggies' staff in 2013, the 30-year old Spavital coached quarterbacks at West Virginia from 2011-12.
