The early afternoon slate of college football’s Week 14 has wrapped up and there were a couple of notable victories. One appears to stand out to ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit, though.
The veteran ESPN analyst was very impressed with what he saw from No. 5 Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon.
Jimbo Fisher’s program, which remains in the hunt for a College Football Playoff berth, took care of business on the road at Auburn.
Texas A&M took down Auburn, 31-20, to improve to 7-1 on the season.
“GREAT win today for @AggieFootball,” he tweeted. “Congratulations.”

Texas A&M has two games left on the schedule, as they’re set to play Ole Miss on Dec. 12 and Tennessee on Dec. 19.
If the Aggies win both of those games, they will remain in playoff contention. They could lock up the No. 4 spot if Alabama wins out, Ohio State wins out and Notre Dame beats Clemson for the second time in the ACC Championship Game. That would leave the No. 4 spot up for grabs and the Aggies, with just one loss, could be the best available pick.
We still have a ways to go, but today was a nice step for Jimbo Fisher’s program.
