Texas A&M To Hire Ron Cooper As Defensive Backs Coach

Former FIU defensive coordinator Ron Cooper will reportedly take over as Texas A&M's defensive backs coach.

The vacancy at defensive backs coach for Texas A&M has been filled by FIU defensive coordinator Ron Cooper, reports Billy Liucci of TexAgs.com.

Check it out:

Cooper will bring a wealth of knowledge to the Aggies staff, as he's been in the coaching game since 1990, when he took over as defensive coordinator for UNLV. In his 27 year career he's made stops at Notre Dame, Louisville and LSU. HIs extensive resume also includes a season working as the secondary coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012.

Most recently, he was the defensive backs coach at FIU, before taking over as DC for the 2016 season, while also serving as interim coach for a period.

If the Aggies were looking for experience, they got plenty of it with Cooper's hiring.
