Texas A&M vs. Northern Iowa – Game Time, TV Channel, Announcers, Betting Line, Predictions

Friday featured a number of crazy upsets across the board, but the Texas A&M Aggies were not involved. The West Region's three-seed handled the Green Bay Phoenix with ease, taking home a 92-68 victory. Danuel House led the way for the Aggies with 20 points, but the team put together a well-rounded effort, with Tyler Davis, Admon Gilder, Jalen Jones, and Tonny Trocha-Morelos all chipping in double-digit points.

Northern Iowa engineered one of those aforementioned upsets. The 11-seed Panthers are no stranger to making noise in the NCAA Tournament. Six years after Ali Farokhmanesh led the team to a stunning Sweet 16 berth, Paul Jesperson sent the Panthers to the second round with an unbelievable half-court buzzer beater, spoiling Texas' chance to play rival A&M on Sunday. Defeating a Shaka Smart team in the Tournament is always an accomplishment. Taking down a very strong A&M team will be even more impressive.

Date: Sunday, March 20

Time: 7:40 p.m. E.T.

TV Channel: truTV

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Announcers: Carter Blackburn, Mike Gminski and Jaime Maggio

Opening Betting Line: Texas A&M -6.5

Prediction: Northern Iowa has been a great mid-major program for some time, and are clearly a dangerous tournament team. Wes Washpun is also one of the top senior guards in the country, and against Texas, the team proved that he is not a one-man show. Unfortunately, Texas A&M will probably be a bit too much for the Panthers to handle. The Aggies have a top-10 defense, and Danuel House is emerging as a true star for the Aggies. A double-digit Cinderella, or even two, may find their way into the Sweet 16, but I don't think Northern Iowa will be one of them after Sunday night.
