Video: Kevin Sumlin Discusses Texas A&M's Plan At Quarterback For Vanderbilt Game

Texas A&M has been through the ringer at the quarterback position this season. Kyle Allen was entrenched at the spot to start the year, but has fallen off in recent weeks. Exciting freshman Kyler Murray has shown star potential, but is inconsistent. Jake Hubenak has also worked his way into the mix. Ahead of Saturday's game against a strong Vanderbilt defense, Sumlin addressed the quarterback situation. Unsurprisingly, things have opened back up yet again.

TexAgs transcribed the key portions of the press conference. Here is what Sumlin has to say about the general quarterback situation:

"We've talked about it as a staff, talked with our players and quarterbacks, we'll practice this week, evaluate where we are in practice. We've had guys have good moments, some not so good moments. We're looking for consistency out of the position and that's what this week of practice will be about and we'll name a starter as we get closer to game time."

He goes on to address Murray and Allen specifically as well. A&M has disappointed in recent weeks, dropping three-of-four SEC games before handling FCS Western Carolina last weekend. After a 5-0 start, it is hard not to be underwhelmed by what the Aggies have done.
