Texas A&M senior defensive back Howard Matthews' final game as a collegiate football player has ended a bit earlier than anticipated. Matthews has been ejected from the AutoZone Liberty Bowl in the first quarter after a nasty helmet-to-helmet hit on West Virginia wideout Jordan Thompson. The penalty also cost the Aggies three points, as the Mountaineers kicked a field goal as a result of the gained yardage.
Check it out - there's no question that he led with the crown of his helmet.
Oddly enough, Matthews celebrated a bit as he headed to the locker room. Texas A&M leads 7-3 in the first quarter.
