When the United States released its updated roster for its October World Cup qualifiers, star midfielder Christian Pulisic was not included.

Pulisic is dealing with an ankle injury and is unable to compete. He suffered the injury in the USMNT's qualifier against Honduras earlier this month.

Because of his ailing ankle, Pulisic is not only out of action for these upcoming World Cup qualifiers, he's also missing time with his club team, Chelsea. The 23-year-old has appeared in only one of Chelsea's six matches in Premier League play thus far this season.

Around the soccer world, the immediate reaction to the Pulisic news is concern about his health and hope that he'll be able to bounce back soon.

Without Pulisic, the USMNT will take on Jamaica, Costa Rica and Panama in October. The team tied Canada and El Salvador and routed Honduras in qualifiers earlier this month.

Hopefully the young standout won't have to spend too much more time on the sideline.
