52-Year-Old Swimsuit Model Poses For Jaw-Dropping Snow Photos
Snowstorms have hit much of the Midwest and parts of the Northeast heading into the first full week of the new year. A longtime swimsuit model is taking advantage of that.
Shannon Burton, a 52-year-old swimsuit model who posed for the 2022 edition of the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, is stunning with some snow photos on Sunday evening.
The mother of two, who lives in the Louisville, Kentucky area, had some stunning photos taken by her husband on Sunday night.
"Freeze Frame. ❄️❄️❄️ 📸: My husband ❤️," she wrote.
Burton, who played college basketball and whose daughters play college lacrosse, showed off her swimsuit form in the snow on Sunday night.
"Love these! 👏👏👏 and your dog, what a Bear! ❤️" one fan wrote.
"Snow bunny fully loaded!!!!" one fan added.
"Welp. Now we know why the ice caps are melting 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 😍," one fan added.
"🔥Stunning photos! The snow won’t stay long with these pictures lol," one fan added.
Burton was an SI Swim Search finalist back in 2022. She opened up to SI Swimsuit about why she applied.
“Quite honestly, it was a combination of things. I specifically remember seeing an article in March of 2021 about Kathy Jacobs, the 57-year-old rookie who had been chosen out of SI Swim Search, and I was inspired in more ways than one. How could I not be? She was amazing, gorgeous, fearless and worked hard to be her best self. I have been a dream chaser since I was very young, and if I had a passion in my heart for something, I worked my tail off until I got it. This was no different," she said.
"I started modeling at the late age of 35 when many modeling careers had already come to an end. So many rejections, doors closed, and “no”s in my 15 years in the industry, but I refused to quit. When I saw that Swim Search was opening up for 2022-23, I promised to enter. I turned 50 in March and felt it was the perfect way to celebrate such a big milestone. So I went all in.”
Perhaps we'll see Mrs. Burton back in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 2025.
