Charles Barkley Says There's 1 Reason To Hate Skip Bayless

Love or hate Charles Barkley as a personality and NBA analyst, you know he'll always speak his mind. That is the case with the league that he covers, and with the rest of the sports media world: including some recent shots at FS1's Skip Bayless.

During a recent interview with Washington D.C.'s 106.7 The Fan, Barkley made no bones about his disdain for the Undisputed co-host and sports world provocateur.

“That’s the one thing I hate about a lot of sportscasters, the one reason I hate on punk-ass Skip Bayless,” Barkley told the Grant and Danny show on Monday afternoon. "He cherry-picks the guys he likes and the guys he don’t like.

"And if you’ve actually paid attention to him going back, you can just tell he hates that guy or he loves that guy. And I don’t think that’s the way you should do your job.”

Obviously, that is no revelation. Bayless has made it his personal mission to denigrate LeBron James, no matter what he does on a basketball court. Nary a big sports moment passes that Bayless doesn't use as a cudgel against James' legacy, even if it has little to nothing to do with him. That is the most glaring example, but far from the only one.

For the former Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns great, it won't be a huge concern for him much longer. He made clear that he still intends to retire at 60, which would take him through the 2023 season.

“I’m trying to hang on for another couple years until I’m 60,” said Barkley. “And then they can kiss my ass. I’m only working ’til 60. I’ve already told ’em that. I’m not working until the day I die; that’s just stupid. And if I don’t have enough money by now, I’m an idiot anyway so they should fire me.”

If Charles Barkley follows through on that, it will be the end of an era for TNT and Inside The NBA, one of the most popular shows in the sports world.
