Fox Sports 1's Emmanuel Acho Has Been Forced To Evacuate Home
As the wildfires rage across southern California, hundreds of thousands of citizens are being forced to evacuated while tons of businesses are having to close up shop as well. We can now add Fox Sports analyst Emmanuel Acho to the list of people having to flee.
Taking to X last night, Acho shared a video of himself driving near the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles. He admitted that he was on his way to evacuate his house at the time he posted the video.
"Please pray for LA— the Hollywood Hills are now on fire. I just took this video as I am about to evacuate my house," Acho wrote on X.
Acho would then share on Thursday's edition of The Facility that he and some producers of the show had to evacuate their homes for safety.
"Obviously, starting the show a little differently. In The Facility, like a real football facility you don't just bring the laughs, you don't just bring the jokes, sometimes you bring the real world problems. Obviously there's a lot going on in the real world of LA right now. Some producers have had to evacuate their houses... I had to evacuate my house last night in Hollywood Hills... Please send your thoughts and prayers to any family, friends and strangers in all of those areas," Acho said to open the show.
The number of casualties from the fires in California have been mercifully low, but the amount of devastation that they've wrought may not be fully realized until well-after the last fires die down.
Tons and tons of lives are likely to be ruined even if everyone is able to survive.
Even areas that aren't directly affected by the fires are going to be hit pretty hard as the smoke makes travel both challenging and downright unsafe. We've already seen an NHL game postponed due to the fire and the NFL is currently mulling moving their upcoming playoff game between the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings to Arizona if conditions continue to get worse.
We hope everyone is affected is able to evacuate safely.
