Prayers are pouring in on social media for the family of the ESPN employee who died before the start of the NCAA Tournament game on Saturday.

An ESPN employee reportedly died before the start of an NCAA Tournament Super Regionals game on Saturday. The start of the Wake Forest vs. Alabama NCAA Tournament game was delayed due to a medical emergency at the stadium.

Reports confirmed that an ESPN employee died.

"An ESPN employee working the Alabama-Wake Forest NCAA Super Regional Saturday morning in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, died approximately an hour before the game’s scheduled start at noon, an OutKick source confirmed," Outkick reported.

"Game officials postponed the start of the game until 2:15 p.m. at Wake Forest’s David F. Couch Ballpark. The ESPN employee had just attended a pregame meeting about the game’s coverage that was scheduled for ESPN."

Our thoughts are with the family.

"Tragedy just before Alabama-Wake Forest game Saturda," one fan wrote.

"Such a sad and sobering situation. What is the mood around the stadium and inside the press area. Thoughts and prayers to the ESPN team, this person’s family and friends," another fan wrote.

ESPN released a statement on the situation earlier on Saturday.

"We are still gathering details related to the medical situation at the Alabama-Wake Forest game."

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted.
