Earlier this week, Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski made an honest admission about his football future.

He said if he needed to decide right now on his status for the 2022 season, he would retire. Fresh off the heartbreak of a playoff exit, he needs some time to sit back and think about his future.

"If they're like, 'Rob, you've got to decide right now, right this second if you're playing next year,' I would say no right now. It's two days after the season" Gronkowski told TMZ. "I would be like, 'No, I'm not playing.' It's way too soon. You got to give it some time, see how everything plays out."

Fans can't blame the longtime star for taking a little time to make a decision.

"I don’t blame him for hedging. His body went through so much trauma he retired at 30 years old. Last year he was relatively healthy, but now he’s 33 and got seriously injured again this year. He’s gotta be tired of rehabbing. Still think he’s back if Tom laces em up again," one fan said.

Other fans just think he's waiting for Tom Brady to make his decision. "'I'm waiting for Brady,'" said one fan.

One fan knows both Brady and Gronk could be gone and the 2022 Buccaneers could look a lot different.

"This all could fall apart very very quickly," the fan said.
