The NFL season just keeps getting better and better. Even Aaron Rodgers agrees.
The San Francisco 49ers almost pulled off an improbable comeback on Sunday Night Football. Then Rodgers happened.
With 37 seconds left on the clock and no timeouts remaining, Rodgers completed two consecutive deep shots to Davante Adams to put Green Bay in Mason Crosby's range. Crosby then did what he does best, drilling a 51-yard field goal to win the game. The Packers are now 2-1 on the season.
You won't see many football games better than the one the Packers and 49ers played on Sunday night. Rodgers couldn't help but feel "romantic" about the game of football during his postgame interview.
"How can you not be romantic about football, man?," Rodgers said.
We think it's time to extinguish some of the rumors surrounding Aaron Rodgers.
Following the Packers' dreadful season-opening loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 1, there were many questioning Rodgers' commitment to the game. So what has the veteran done since then? He's thrown for 516 yards and six touchdowns in wins over the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers.
There was a fire in Rodgers' eyes on Sunday night, in particular. He never had a look of defeat on his face, even after the 49ers scored a go-ahead touchdown with under a minute left in the game.
Sunday night's version of Rodgers was nothing short of sensational. He'll try and maintain his stellar play this Sunday when the Packers host the Pittsburgh Steelers.
