Many of the NFL's top-tier quarterbacks have gotten off to strong starts through two weeks of the regular season. However, a few have stood out among the rest.
Former NFL MVP and current CBS analyst Boomer Esiason revealed that he's seen five quarterbacks in particular grab the reins in the first two weeks of the 2021 campaign. Unsurprisingly some of last year's top gunslingers made the list.
All five of these quarterbacks rank in the top six in passing yards through the first two weeks and many of them already rank among the league leaders in passing touchdowns. Each one has also passed the eye test with flying colors.
Mahomes has completed 76.1 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and just one interception to start off the season. That turnover came at a crucial moment in the Kansas City Chiefs loss to the Baltimore Ravens, but the team's quarterback still looks comfortable after signing his record deal this summer. Brady leads the league in touchdowns with nine passing scores through the first two weeks of the year. Murray ranks second with seven touchdowns through the air, but equals the seven-time Super Bowl champ with two additional rushing scores. Carr has been one of the biggest pleasant surprises in 2021 and has already thrown for over 800 yards through two games. The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-0 and look to finally be putting the pieces together. Prescott rounded out Esiason's list after getting back on the field for the first time since October of last year. The Dallas Cowboys have been a completely different team with their franchise quarterback on the field and will look to take over the NFC East lead on Monday night. [
