The Kansas City Chiefs are getting healthy at the right time. According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce is expected to come off the reserve/COVID-19 list this Wednesday.
Rapoport added that Kelce should practice this afternoon for the Chiefs. That's a strong sign that he's close to 100 percent.
Kelce was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 last week, forcing him to miss Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Even though Kelce wasn't active for the Chiefs this past weekend, the offense managed to score 36 points in a blowout win. Byron Pringle led the Chiefs' passing attack with six receptions for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
Blake Bell and Noah Gray filled in for Kelce at tight end last Sunday, combining for 23 receiving yards.
Obviously, Kelce's return should give the Chiefs' offense a boost. The Pro Bowler has 83 receptions for 1,066 yards and seven touchdowns through 14 games this year.
Kelce put the team on his back in Week 15, hauling in 10 passes for 191 yards and two scores in an overtime win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
With Kelce back in the mix, the Chiefs should feel pretty confident heading into this Sunday's showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals.
